Basic necessities are being provided. This includes home delivered lunches for seniors, thanks to our partnership with Meals on Wheels by ACC and support from Agency on Aging Area 4. Children and teens will receive lunch daily, with a breakfast to save for the next morning, courtesy of our partnership with Twin Rivers Unified School District. Grocery boxes are being provided to seniors, thanks to our friends at River City Food Bank, Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, and Sacramento Republic FC. Check out some coverage of their generosity here: https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2020/03/18/coronavirus-communities-pull-together/
All essential program services continue for seniors, teens, children, and families. Because the heart of our work is relational, we continue to connect as often as possible with our participants. Through phone calls, as well as home visits – actually porch visits now, with appropriate social distancing – we are continuing our relationships with those we serve, and encouraging them to connect with one another by phone and social media.
